My A/W Lipstick Picks. . .

Left to right:
Mac - Rebel
Mac - Diva
Mac - Faux
Chanel - Foudroyante

One of my favourite things about Autumn/Winter is all the beautiful seasonal colours that take over, and what better than applying these gorgeous shades to your lips?! Here are a few of my most loved lip shades. .

Firstly is 'Rebel' which my 14 year old niece bought me. (good choice Al!) This is a gorgeous purple shade and you can vary the depth of the shade by layering it up, or by wearing a lip balm on top to sheer it out slightly.  This colour is blue based so it is meant to give the appearance of whiter teeth. The lipstick has a satin finish, which is quite matte with touch of a sheen. As i suffer from dry lips especially when the weather gets colder, this lipstick does not look good, so lip prep is a must! I usually use a lip scrub and lip balm then apply. I do find that the wearing time is not brilliant, as i find with most mac lipsticks but it is a gorgeous colour and usually lasts around 2 hours until i have to re apply.

As soon as i seen 'Diva' it was love at first sight, it is a deep reddish/burgundy shade which works really well with my complexion (being pale). It is a Matte lipstick but is definitely creamy enough to apply easily. What i love most is how bold this lipstick is and how dramatic it can make a makeup look.  This colour lasted me around 3 hours until i had to touch it up, it did begin to stick in my fine lines on my lips, but that was hardly noticeable.

'Faux' has been my go to lipstick most days since september, it is a 'natural, pinky toned, neutral' colour is my best way of describing this colour. The shade compliments my skin tone very well. This lipstick does not dry my lips out whats so ever, it has a satin finish and i find it to be quite moisturising. I have worn this lipstick for 4 hours straight without re applying and that is including lots of cups os tea!

Chanel's 'Foudroyante' lipstick is definitely a more luxurious lipstick with red/brown tones.  I love this lipstick and how it leaves my lips feeling moisturised and hydrated. The colour is build-able and can be worn as a bold colour or a sheer colour, also leaves a glossy shine to your lips. I would highly recommend this lipstick for those who suffer with dry lips like myself.  This is a perfect autumnal/winter shade! love, love, love.

What Lipsticks have you been loving?

Christmas At Lush

Yep it is October, but Christmas has been creeping in slowly for a while now. I can even recall spotting christmas cards in August in some shops. Its that time of the year were i get VERY excited for Christmas at Lush. Here are a couple of the products i have been eyeing up recently...

1. Yog Nog Soap (buy here)
I was instantly drawn to the scent of this soap, kind of smelling like butterscotch, If you like Honey i washed the kids, then i definitely recommend this! It contains Soya Yogurt which is really moisturising leaving your skin super soft also Nutmeg powder giving the soap a warming and spicy aroma.  Definitely a Festive must have!

2. Butterbear (buy here)
This is a very simple Bath bomb with no frills like most of the bath bombs at Lush. It is packed with Fair trade organic cocoa butter which softens your bath water, moisturising your skin whilst relaxing. It has a musky vanilla scent to the bath bomb and you can easily detect the cocoa butter in it. I wouldn't say it is my favourite, but it is a bargain!

3. The Melting Snowman (buy here)
For cuteness this little Snowman wins hands down. Im not overly keen on bath melts, but i was impressed with this little man. The smell of christmas spices lingered to my skin all night and made me feel really warm and relaxed.  cute, cute, cute...

4. Buche De Noel (buy here)
This facial cleanser is known as food for your face, it is packed with satsumas, cranberries and a drop of brandy. It also contains Almonds which give a gentle exfoliation and cocoa butter giving you soft skin.  I have only used this cleanser twice but so far so good!

5. Hot Toddy (buy here)
This is my go to shower gel every time i shower/bathe. Possibly one of my favourite shower gels Lush has created... Thank you! I love all things cinnamon, so what better way than to lather myself up with Hot Toddy. I WILL be stocking up.

6.  Holly Golightly (buy here)
This best thing about this bubble bar is definitely the smell, oh my it literally smells like Christmas. cinnamon smelling (yes, my favourite) , with hints of cloves and orange. what a dream. You also get a generous amount of this product for the price of it.  Only downside to this bubble bar is theres so much glitter.

7. First Snow (buy here)
Not everyone is a fan of dusting powders, but i have to say i love myself a bit of shimmer. It has a sweet orange scent and really works amazing teamed with 'Celebrate" Body lotion. As well as putting some sparkle in to your day, Dusting powders are great for absorbing grease.

8. Celebrate (buy here)
This hand and body lotion has scent of oranges, to be precise it smells like a tangerine being peeled. Aside from the fragrance, it contains amazing ingredients which help your skin look and feel lovely, Cocoa butter and Almond oil will replenish and moisturise your skin, This stuff is insanely good for dry skin. I just wish it was out all year round.

9. Father Christmas (buy here)
What more will get you in the Christmas spirit than a Father Christmas Bath Bomb?!! .. This Bath bomb turns your water from red to bright green, It is rather sweet smelling, with a scent similar to the mighty famous 'Snow Fairy'. If you like all things sweet then this is for you!

10. Gold (buy here)
FUN!.. I am such a big fan of this stuff. It is a multi-purpose playful wash and can be used as soap, shampoo, bubble bath or even just to be played with whilst your in the bath! FUN comes in different colours and scents, but Gold is a christmas limited addiction. A build your own snow man kit is also available in FUN, which i will be getting my hands on! Gold smells just like 'Honey I Washed The Kids', very creamy and comforting!

11. So White (buy here)
At first i was not to excited to try this Shower Gel as I am not the biggest fan of apple scented things as it usually reminds me of cleaning products, but i was surprised at how natural smelling this was and not to over powering. It did leave my skin feeling soft but not as moisturising as i would of liked it to of been in these wintery months!

Will you be purchasing any of the Lush Christmas products?

See ya September

September has been an exciting month, the most exciting of which was bagging my self a new job!
Im all about September, I live all summer looking forward to September. I find myself at my happiest when the leaves start to turn brown and the nights become darker. September always feels like a fresh start for me and it also means that it is soon approaching my Birthday (October), Halloween and Christmas! Yes, thats right I am one of those, who is counting down the days until i can blast some Christmas tunes!

So, Something i did this September was setting myself a challenge to read John Green's 'Paper Towns' ... Mission complete! Im the sort of person to read a chapter then close the book and go back to it when i have nothing else to do, but i can say that this was hard to put down! I love how it incorporates laughter, poetry and it is also really touching, Typical John Green kinda book and is definitely worth a read.

With all this being said, October i welcome you..
